Stephanie Celommi

Over the years I have become more and more motivated to become the very best at what I do and that’s what keeps me going.

1. What do you do when you are not climbing? (Other hobbies/ sports)

When not climbing or training for climbing, I spend my time trying new foods and running. I also grew up in a family of avid skiers so in the winter I also do a lot of snowboarding.

2. If you had to name one thing that gets you totally psyched about climbing, what would that be?

I’m pretty self motivated when it comes to climbing but watching climbing videos usually helps if the psych is low.

3. What is the most memorable climb/ boulder problem that you have ever completed or attempted?

A route at the RRG called Spank. It’s a super cruxy climb that was pretty scary to try in the beginning. I really enjoyed the process of getting out of my comfort zone and seeing how much I progressed.

4. Do you have any ongoing projects that are just driving you crazy?

Rocking Chair Direct at Haycock is currently driving me crazy.

5. If you never discovered climbing, what would you be doing now?

If I never discovered climbing I would definitely still be just as active but within another sport. Probably running or track.

6. Favorite music to send to!?

Anything with a beat.

7. Climber that you most look up to?

I don’t have one specific climber I look up to most. I appreciate specific characteristics of a lot of different athletes, not just in the climbing community. I think it’s important to have a diverse group of role models so you can get a well-rounded understanding of how professional athletes go about their daily lives.

8. Top 3 Climbing locations?

Red River Gorge,  The Gunks and Mount Gretna.

9. Your favorite BetaLabs product.

My favorite beta labs product is the Chalk Buck-it because of its water proof feature and it come in handy whenever there’s snow, mud, or water on the ground.

10. Why do you climb?

Climbing has provided me with a way to push myself past the boundaries of what people usually think is possible. It’s such a unique sport that I originally stuck with because it’s simply fun. Over the years I have become more and more motivated to become the very best at what I do and that’s what keeps me going.
